Our Mission

Our mission is to take a holistic approach to support the custodial single parents through charitable, social, and educational programs that may inspire parents to become agents of change in their community.

The Vision

AASP will become the largest social service agency in the United States that supports the custodial single parent by promoting economic empowerment for themselves and their children to break the cycle of poverty.

Why Support Single Parents?

According to the 2017 U.S. Census Bureau, there are over 12 million single-parent families, with more than 80% headed by single mothers.

Single mothers are much more likely to be poor than married couples. The poverty rate for single-mother families in 2016 was 35.6%, nearly five times more than the rate (6.6%) for married-couple families.

Children of single parents are more likely to engage in high-risk behaviors and more likely to drop out of high school.

AASP is dedicated to addressing the needs of this growing community. If you would like to support our programs and services, consider making a tax-deductible financial contribution.
